Last week, the Kisii Eye Hospital had its grand opening. Rather than describe the details myself, I will pass along this quote from the Institute's Director and Chief Ophthalmologist, Dr. Dan Kiage:
“The grand launch exceeded our expectations. We had a week long free eye camp and we saw about 2000 patients, did 216 free cataract surgeries, and distributed 354 spectacles at greatly subsidized prices. The Governor himself attended the main event on the 29th, as did his deputy and a number of local leaders . We have received overwhelming congratulations for a very successful occasion.”
